What cities do you serve in Ontario?
Secure Vu is located in London, Ontario but we serve cities throughout Southwestern Ontario, including Sarnia, Windsor, Guelph, Waterloo, Kitchener, Toronto and all cities and municipalities in between.

Where is the monitoring station located?
The Secure Vu monitoring station is located in London, Ontario, which is where we are headquartered.

Is my security system connected to the police?
No, your security system is not connected to the police. It is connected to the monitoring system which is located in London, Ontario. We will contact the appropriate authorities if your home alarm system is set off.

If I get a free quote, am I locked into anything?
Absolutely not. We’re happy to give you a free quote on a home security system and to give you our recommendations for which alarm system is best for your home. We invite you to get quotes from other security companies because we’re certain that you won’t find the level of quality service that Secure Vu offers. Unlike other large security companies, we often can do same day installations and can provide a higher level of service than they can offer.

How much do you charge per month for a home security system?
Our options for home security systems vary and so do the prices for each system. Our most basic home security system package is the Home Alarm Monitoring package and packages start at $29.99 per month. Our high-end, top-of-the-line security system is the Smart Home Automation + Video package and the cost for this is $52.99 per month. All of our other security package prices fall somewhere in between these two prices. You can browse our package comparison page for more detailed information on prices for specific systems.

How do I know what security system is best for me?
When Secure Vu visits your home to provide you with a free quote, our experts will provide you a recommendation for which home security will be best for you. This recommendation will take into account many variables, including where your home is located, what your specific needs are, whether you require home automation or video surveillance, etc. Our recommendations are only suggestions and we’d be happy to build you a custom package to meet your exact needs.

Do you require a contract be signed?
At Secure Vu, we typically offer 12 month contracts on all our security systems. This ensures you get the lowest price for your security system because the cost of equipment and installation fees are rolled into your monthly rate. If you prefer to have a security system with no contract, we are happy to accommodate this request but please note that you will have to pay for the equipment upfront.

What types of payment do you accept?
Secure Vu bills on a monthly basis and accepts all major credit cards. You can also set up a pre-authorized payment that automatically withdraws the amount from your bank account. This easy way ensures you don’t worry about remembering to pay each month.

Do I need anything for installation?
All you need for a successful installation is an internet connection. Our alarm technicians will bring everything they need to set up your security system and will make sure it’s ready, running and you know how to operate it before they leave.

How long does it take to install a security system & do I need to be home?
This will depend on which type of home security system you have chosen. Most Secure Vu security systems take between two and four hours to install. We ask our customers to be home during this time because our technicians will show you how to operate the system and make sure you feel comfortable using it before they leave.

What will happen to my alarm system if I move?
If you move within two years of having your Secure Vu home security system installed, we would be happy to reinstall it at your new home for free. If you move before the two year period is up, please contact us and we would be happy to discuss your options with you. Please note that a service fee will be necessary.

If the power goes out will my alarm system still work?
Yes. If the power goes out your alarm system will still work because each system that Secure Vu installs comes with a backup battery that is located within the security control pad. This battery will recharge itself when the power is back so you don’t need to worry about anything.

What happens when the alarm goes off?
When your alarm goes off, Secure Vu will call you and ask if you have accidently set off your alarm. We will ask you to provide your password to us at this time and if an incorrect password is given, or if no one answers the phone, we will alert the authorities. They will be immediately sent to your home to check the premises and look for any signs of forced entry. If no signs of entry have been found, they will leave the property and the alarm will reset itself for all untripped zones after about four minutes, which means the sirens will stop sounding. If a break-in has occurred, the police or security guard will notify Secure Vu and we will pass their findings along to you.

What if I set off the alarm by accident?
If turn off your alarm within 30 seconds of activating it, nothing will happen and you don’t need to worry because our monitoring system knows that you have deactivated your system. If you don’t turn off your alarm within 30 seconds, you will get a phone call from Secure Vu and we’ll ask if you’ve set it off by accident and ask you for your password. If the correct password isn’t given or if you do not answer the phone after five rings, we will alert the authorities and they will be sent to your home immediately. During this time, Secure Vu will go through the list of references that you have provided us with and try to contact one of them.
